Local Lifestyle

Downtown Los Angeles is walkable, urban, and full of electric energy bringing the town to life.  Filming for movies and TV shows happens downtown. The city's walkability makes it easy to access any grocery store, bar, or living space. There are five neighborhoods within downtown Los Angeles, all with their own vibe and quirks.

On the east side is the Arts District, whose art scene dates back to the late 1990s. It is a neighborhood of revitalized industrial buildings and residences mixed in among art galleries. A few minutes north of the Arts District is Little Tokyo, which was declared a National Historic Landmark District in 1995. Northwest of here is the Historic Core, the epicenter of Los Angeles' history featuring buildings built anywhere between 1907 and 1931. Directly west of the Historic Core is South Park, with luxurious high-rise buildings and breathtaking cityscape views. East of South Park and north of the Historic Core is the Financial District, the central business district since the early 1900s. Each community holds a unique history behind its origins and showcases the vastness of Los Angeles' history.

Dining, Entertainment, & Shopping

With a variety of restaurants right at your fingertips, downtown Los Angeles is perfect for gourmet food lovers. Partake in delicious Italian dinners and seasonal fares such as chestnut and mushroom agnolotti or a spicy lamb sausage pizza at Bestia. Anyone looking for Middle Eastern cuisine can enjoy slow-roasted lamb shwarma at Bavel amid an open, airy dining room surrounded by light brick walls.

Joey DTLA, a contemporary favorite with the locals, features a broad menu of international and local dishes, like Baja fish tacos or sake-glazed Chilean sea bass, alongside an extensive cocktail menu. In need of some comfort food with an elegant twist? Then stop by Blacksmiths and have one of their premium cocktails during a fun brunch with friends or a fun night out.
