Spend a day at the famous La Brea Tar Pits and Museum, a fossil excavation site with artifacts dating back to the Ice Age. It also has a garden area recreated to resemble prehistoric times. Close to the La Brea Tar Pits and Museum is the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, containing 20 acres of diverse collections spanning art history, which also hosts screenings and concerts.
 
Car enthusiasts will also love perusing all the cars at the Petersen Automotive Museum, from restored antiques to race cars and even vehicles from famous movies. As far as renowned concert venues go, music lovers must see a show at El Rey Theatre, which was first built as a movie theater in 1936 until it was adapted into a concert hall in 1994. This iconic venue has hosted performances ranging from artists like Bob Dylan to Rage Against the Machine.
